About Kinesiology

As a kinesiologist I get to listen to the whole person – the heart, the mind, the body, and to the essence / spirit that makes you, you.

Kinesiology uses muscle assessment to tap into the wisdom of your body. It helps you to be able to identify the stressors and stories, from your experience of life, that contribute to your symptoms today, and assists you to find the best way to gently release them.

Once your dis-stress is released, your body has the freedom to function more effectively and can initiate the process of self healing to achieve improved health, well being and performance on many levels.

Kinesiology for the body

Kinesiology can influence the key systems of our body i.e. nervous system, muscular system, endocrine system, respiratory system, digestive system etc. Balancing the body can assist the body to prepare for sports events or changes in time zone, or help to restore balance and function through the body’s own natural healing processes.

Kinesiology can be of assistance in easing many symptoms of dis-ease.

Headaches, digestive problems, allergies, eczema, menstrual difficulties, recurrent infections… these are all symptoms… indicators of other underlying imbalances. Once balance is restored the body is able to heal.

Kinesiology for the mind

Kinesiology can improve the way we use our mind by training our neurology to work more effectively. This enables you to find better ways of solving problems and can make learning easier.

Kinesiology can be supportive in working with learning difficulties, encourage creativity, or assist with difficulties experienced in the fields of language, reading and maths.

Kinesiology for the emotions

Kinesiology can help you to identify and resolve current and past emotions that are impacting on your quality of life, your health and ability to function.

Kinesiology can help a person deal with fears, or phobias, it can assist with depression or help with the development of confidence and self-esteem.

Kinesiology for the spirit

Sometimes you don’t have anything wrong… you just feel a little lost, life can lack a sense of meaning or purpose… Kinesiology can help you to find a sense of self and identify answers or patterns that are holding you back.

Questions Often Asked:

Will Kinesiology cure me?

No-one can cure anyone else. If you cut your finger, I can put a plaster on it but your body heals the cut, and if you break a bone, a doctor can set it, but he does not heal it – you do. As a Kinesiologist we do not “heal” or “treat” but work to re-establish balance so that you can move forward with your own process of healing and improve your quality of life.

How many sessions would I need?

The number of sessions depends on each individual and their given focus or situation. Most people will notice improvement after one to three visits, but we cannot determine how many sessions in total will be needed.

When I get better, how long will it last?

This depends on the individual and their circumstances. Whilst we are living, we are constantly presented with stressors, and how long we remain in balance depends on our genetic make-up and our ability to adapt to change appropriately. If you are living through a high stress period or live a fast paced and high stress lifestyle, you may find that your balance is more quickly disturbed. A Kinesiologist can help you to identify and address what is causing your “di-stress” and this in turn will help your body to adapt more appropriately to the stresses that your life holds.

Do you give medication?

We do not diagnose conditions or prescribe medication, nor do we “take you off” your medication. You would consult your medical doctor for that.
